Michigan State football is not covered in the site. Not even close.
Jonathan Smith and the Spartans have been linked to numerous transfers in recent weeks, and they have even signed 20 since the new head coach took over. He’s been on a roll lately, signing Ed Woods, Lejond Cavazos, Jalen Satchell, Marcellius Pulliam, Ru’Quan Buckley, Tyler Gillison, Andrew Dennis, and Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams in recent weeks.
The roster is beginning to take shape, but Smith is clearly dissatisfied with where it stands in mid-May, and he is arranging a lot of transfers this month.
On Tuesday, an intriguing name emerged on the radar of Michigan State fans.
Kobee Minor.
While his name may not seem familiar, he was an honorable mention All-Big Ten standout for the Indiana Hoosiers this past season, making 20 tackles and four pass breakups. He had a decent game against the Spartans on November 18, recording four tackles.
Minor was a big contributor at Texas Tech before moving on to Indiana. He played in 23 games for the Red Raiders over two seasons, beginning as a special teams star and progressing to backup cornerback, where he concluded his sophomore year (2022) with 12 tackles and two pass breakups.
Smith is clearly poised to bolster the defensive backfield with players like Cavazos and Woods joining. If he can also land Minor, there will be something amazing going on here.
It’s been a long time since East Lansing has had a great pass defense, and it appears that Demetrice Martin and Blue Adams are working to change that quickly.
