Latest: AC Milan will hold talks this week to sign midfielder

The transfer window does not reopen for another two and a half months, but it appears that AC Milan’s administration is planning ahead of time.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Milan have the’most concrete’ interest in signing Assan Ouédraogo from Schalke 04, having previously expressed interest in signing him.

Milan officials want to meet with Schalke officials as soon as this week to try to start talks with the 17-year-old, having not been put off by their unsuccessful attempt to sign him last summer.

The writer goes on to say that Ouédraogo, who primarily plays as a box-to-box midfielder, has a €20 million release clause that is valid for teams outside of Germany.

Ouédraogo has played nine games for Schalke this season, scoring one goal, and he could follow in the footsteps of Malick Thiaw, who moved from Gelsenkirchen to the Rossoneri.
