John Calipari’s Arkansas team will be very good.
Adou Thiero, a former Kentucky Wildcat, hit the doorway before John Calipari moved to Arkansas.
Thiero averaged 7.2 points, five rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game for the Wildcats last season, and he will now take his skills to Arkansas. Last season, the 6’8 utility man was the Wildcats’ finest defender, playing with a lot of tenacity.
He improved his deep shooting near the conclusion of the season and appears to be a guy who could have a breakout season for the Razorbacks in 2024-25. The dilemma for the Wildcats is that they will now have to compete with another former star who could have a very productive year.
It won’t be nice for Big Blue Nation to watch a game and see Zvonimir Ivisic and Thiero wearing red, as well as the majority of the recruits that committed to Calipari.
When these two teams meet this season, it will be a complete fight, as Coach Pope does not want to lose to Coach Calipari, and Coach Cal does not want to lose to Coach Pope.
Thiero was a fantastic player who Kentucky fans enjoyed watching, but it will be difficult to compete with him next season.
Coach Calipari’s Razorbacks are looking very good this season, and they will fight for the SEC in his first season there. It will be fascinating to watch whether Coach Calipari adjusts his coaching style at Arkansas.
