If former Blue Devil forward TJ Power joins Boston College, Duke basketball will face him at least once next season.
TJ Power, an outbound Duke basketball freshman, is currently considering Boston College, according to Eagles Daily. And on Monday night, less than 24 hours before his expected arrival in Chestnut Hill, the first 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast appeared for the former five-star recruit from Worcester Academy (Mass.).
According to Eagles Insider founder AJ Black, the 6-foot-9, 216-pound forward is expected to choose Boston College as his next destination.
TJ Power announced his commitment to Scheyer in September 2022, naming five finalists in his recruiting process: Duke, UNC, Virginia, Iowa, and Boston College.
And the Eagles were among the first to give him a scholarship when he was a prep.
It’s worth mentioning, however, that the 20-year-old has apparently received messages from a variety of programs since joining the portal about two weeks ago.
Still, the Eagles appear to be a potentially excellent fit. Power would likely be in the discussion for a starting spot at Boston College, which had just won 20 games for the first time in 13 years but had a losing record in ACC play, a status he would not have achieved with the Blue Devils for at least another year or two.
Power saw limited action with the 2023-24 Blue Devils, though Jon Scheyer did call the spot-up sharpshooter’s number several times during heated skirmishes. Overall, he appeared in 26 games, averaging 2.1 points in 7.0 minutes per game and shooting 35.7 percent from outside.

Duke basketball will face Boston College only once during the 2024-25 ACC regular season schedule. That contest (conference game dates have not yet been confirmed) will take place in Chestnut Hill. So, if Power decides to join Earl Grant and the Eagles, he will not return to the Blue Devils’ Cameron Indoor Stadium until his junior season the following year.
