Auburn football in for transfer portal QB, WR to announce official AU visit

In today’s Auburn Tigers News, Auburn football has not yet lost up on bringing in a quarterback from the transfer portal, and a portal wide receiver speaks about his visit to the Plains.

Following spring practice, it appears that the Auburn football program intends to resume play with Payton Thorne at quarterback for a second season. The Tigers did not bring in a transfer quarterback before spring practice, allowing Thorne to beat off Holden Geriner, Hank Brown, and Walker White, all of whom have little to no real-game experience.

However, it appears that the Tigers have not given up on bringing in a quarterback through the transfer portal.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, former Arizona State quarterback

may visit the Plains.

Rashada completed 44 of 82 throws last season for a 53.7 percent completion rate, totaling 485 yards and four touchdowns.

Over the weekend, Penn State transfer wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith paid an official visit to the Auburn football program. Lambert-Smith, the Nittany Lions’ leading receiver last season, has four years of experience and would be a significant addition to the Tigers’ roster.

The WR stated that he expects to make his decision based on relationships and that he had a terrific time meeting with the Auburn football coaching staff, particularly wide receivers coach Marcus Davis.

“One of the most genuine dudes I’ve probably ever met, and I’ve only been here two days,” Lambert-Smith told Auburn Rivals. “We had honest conversations, and I can see through a lot. “I got a lot of energy from Coach Davis.”
