Leicester City, West Brom, and Hull City are among the clubs expressing interest in Huddersfield Town midfielder Brahima Diarra, according to Belgian news outlet Sudinfo.
Leicester City, West Brom, and Hull City have all been competing at the top of the league, while Huddersfield Town is still fighting to avoid relegation from the Championship.
The Foxes are in a title fight, while the Baggies appear to have secured a play-off position. The Tigers sit just outside of the top six, while the Terriers are 22nd in the table and one point from safety.
The promotion-chasing trio is reportedly eyeing one of Huddersfield’s bright prospects.
According to Sudinfo, a Belgian news outlet, Leicester City, West Brom, and Hull City are interested in signing midfielder Brahima Diarra. The 20-year-old Malian’s contract with Huddersfield expires, and although the Championship is keen, so are several Belgian clubs.
If his contract expires, Diarra will be available on a free transfer.
A bright future
Diarra has appeared 23 times this season, the most of which have been as a substitute, bringing his total senior appearances for Huddersfield Town to 46.
Those appearances, combined with a half-season stay at Harrogate Town, give the young midfielder a reasonable amount of first-team experience given his age.
However, minutes have been limited under Andre Breitenreiter, and his career may be better served elsewhere. As a promising midfielder, it’s unsurprising that his lack of playing time and expiring contract have piqued the interest of potential admirers.
Diarra could be a good value in the short and long term, but only time will tell.
One thing is certain: if Diarra leaves Huddersfield, he will have plenty of suitors, with Leicester City, West Brom, Hull City, and a number of Belgian clubs allegedly interested.
