Lindsey joins Harlem Berry as LSU’s two running back commits for the 2025 cycle, and the Tigers gain another vital piece.
Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff added another desired candidate to the 2025 class on Saturday when four-star, Top 150 running back JT Lindsey announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Lindsey, one of Louisiana’s top prospects, made his promise on an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge for the Spring Game.
Lindsey joined the class right away after receiving an offer on Tuesday, as Kelly and Co. continue to push the cycle to new heights.
LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson has been keeping an eye on the Alexandria Senior High (La.) star’s development in recent months, and following a visit to Baton Rouge this week, he decided to offer him a scholarship.
Wilson and the Tigers have been in frequent communication with Louisiana’s No. 3 running back as he works through his offseason ahead of what many believe to be a dominating senior season.
Lindsey shone throughout his high school career, becoming a national recruit during his junior year, and the LSU coaching staff had great hopes of retaining the standout running back in The Boot.
In their most recent update, On3 elevated Lindsey from unranked prospect to a Top 150 recruit in America, ranking him as the country’s No. 11 running back.
LSU also has a commitment from the No. 1 running back in America, New Orleans’ five-star Harlem Berry, but it may not end there, even after Lindsey announced his commitment.
Wilson and the Tigers have also been actively chasing four-star running back and Top 150 prospect James Simon in recent months.
LSU’s motto remains the same: “The best in The Boot, stay in The Boot,” which is shown in their 2025 class thus far.
Louisiana has three of the top 12 running backs in the country in Berry, Simon, and Lindsey, but will WIlson and Co. pick three running backs in 2025? In short, absolutely, if it comes down to it, but two have already taken the plunge.
Simon is now the only running back on the offer list who has not confirmed his commitment.
For Simon, LSU brought the sought back to Death Valley in late March in the hopes that he would end his recruitment and declare a pledge, but Simon is still on the market and navigating a hectic spring of visits. It’s simple. If Simon wishes to become a Tiger, LSU will welcome him with open arms.
LSU currently has the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, with standout quarterback Bryce Underwood leading the way.
Moving forward, this staff hopes to continue to reel in a few of the top prospects left on their board as the official visit season approaches.
