‘Disappointing’: Pundit tips ‘fantastic’ Sunderland ace to leave in eight-figure deal

Sunderland are expected to trade one of their most promising players for up to £15 million this summer.

Sunderland have been swarmed with young players this season, which has sometimes been to blame for their rapid decline.

The Black Cats made the play-offs in their first season back in the Championship, but things haven’t gone as smoothly this time around.

With Danny Batth and Alex Pritchard leaving, the team’s lack of experience has proven to be a significant impediment for a young squad.

Kristjaan Speakman is expected to lead a highly active transfer window this summer, as well as looking to bring in the appropriate manager following Michael Beale’s disastrous appointment in December.

While they will need to bring in some new faces, they will also be losing a number of valuable assets, including Jack Clarke, Anthony Patterson, and Dan Neil.

Sunderland can cash in on Jobe for £15m

The Black Cats will be anxious to keep their greatest names, but they have been pushed to sell one of their most promising young players, Jobe Bellingham.

In an interview with Football League World, analyst Carlton Palmer stated, “He’s had a fantastic season, he’s a huge talent.” Sunderland paid £3 million to sign him from Birmingham City last summer. So I believe it is a little early for Jobe to leave, but that is the platform that Sunderland works with.

“If they can get him out the door now for £10-15million then I’m sure they will do and that will help them rebuild and bring in other young players, that’s the format that they’ve set out.”It’s disappointing for Sunderland fans since this youthful club was in the play-offs last season under Tony Mowbray and was only two games away from promotion to the Premier League, which would have been back-to-back.

“So it’s amazing how things change very quickly since Tony Mowbray left the football club and, obviously, with things not going well at the moment at Sunderland, they’re looking to bring a new manager in so maybe Jobe will want to move on.”

Sunderland would be stupid to let him go so soon

Fans are well aware that our’model’ requires us to part ways with our greatest players for excellent money most summers, but selling Jobe Bellingham already sounds absurd.

The midfielder has scarcely been able to demonstrate even a fifth of his potential following such a dismal season for the entire team, and he has had little time to relax.

Jobe needs another pre-season, a good management, and a consistent campaign, and there is no doubt he will be far better the next time around.

To sell him for less than £15 million now would be insane, especially since his price could rise in a year if he helps us reach the play-offs again.

The teenager has so much potential, and it would be a shame to just see it on display at the Stadium of Light before looking to cash in – and I honestly believe he will be content to stay for another season.
