The Miami Dolphins are signing defensive tackle Teair Tart to a one-year contract, according to a source involved with the negotiations, who spoke anonymously to The Associated Press on Friday because the deal has not been officially announced.
Tart played nine games for the Titans in 2023, totaling 21 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and one sack before being cut in December. The Houston Texans later claimed him off waivers, and he appeared in two games, recording three tackles.
Tart was undrafted from Florida International in 2020 and has recorded 79 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, and 14 quarterback hits in his career. He spent the first four seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
Tart joins the Dolphins’ defensive signings this summer, which include Benito Jones, Neville Gallimore, Jonathan Harris, Shaquil Barrett, Anthony Walker Jr., Kendall Fuller, and Jordan Poyer.
