Milan has been watching another qualified French midfielder, Youssouf Fofana, after reportedly putting their sights on Khephren Thuram in recent days. He, too, is just entering his prime, at the age of 25, and his contract expires in 2025, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
Last summer, the Rossoneri added two players with only one year left on their contracts: Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze. They weren’t cheap, but they used the circumstances to persuade Chelsea and Villarreal to sell rather than accept the chance.
Milan is looking for a more physical midfielder than those currently on the squad, and Fofana would fit the bill. He would be their most defensive choice. Their director, Geoffrey Moncada, knows him well because he previously worked at Monaco.
Tuttomercatoweb questioned the player about the problem, but he chose to focus on the matches.
“I believe the Rossoneri are a huge club. Everyone is familiar with them and their resumes. However, all gossip aside, I am now completely focused on my mission, which is to help Monaco qualify for the Champions League. Each match will be a final. That’s my main priority right now.”
Our Take on Milan and Fofana
They are starting to become busy at a position where they could technically be set if they wanted to. If they sign someone, it will be fascinating to see if he is a true addition or if they will split ways with someone else.
