Aaron Donald, the Los Angeles Rams star, will no longer terrorize opposition offenses next season. He recently explained why.
Donald announced his retirement from the NFL last week, capping a 10-year career. During his decade-long career, Donald compiled a resume that ranks among the sport’s all-time greats.
However, after years of competing at the top level, Donald stated that he was “burnt out.”
On Wednesday, Donald shared a 55-second clip from his first interview since announcing his retirement on X. In a brief excerpt from the conversation, Donald stated that he had lost the fire that had propelled him throughout his career.
“I’m finished.” I am filled. “I believe my desire to play the game has waned,” Donald stated. “I’ll always adore football. But thinking about another camp and another 17-game season, I just don’t want to push myself anymore. “I’m exhausted.”

Donald further stated that he felt he no longer had anything to prove. The long amount of awards he’s received throughout the years surely backs this up.
Donald made the Pro Bowl every year of his career. The Rams icon received eight first-team All-Pro honors and three Defensive Player of the Year awards. Donald was also instrumental in each of the Rams’ recent Super Bowl appearances.
Donald wants to ride into the sunset. Quarterbacks from various teams they appear to be content to let Donald do exactly that.
