Bruno Guimaraes gives crazy revelation about Newcastle United as contract claim made

According to Brazilian media, Bruno Guimaraes’ new contract with Newcastle United places him among the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old signed to a new five-year contract with Newcastle last week, which is said to feature a £100 million release clause. Although the new contract isn’t thought to have violated The Magpies’ rigorous compensation structure, GOAL in Brazil claims Guimaraes now has the third highest income in the Premier League, after Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

According to the report, Guimaraes’ income is equivalent to that of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, putting him easily Newcastle’s top paid. However, according to several reports, De Bruyne is the greatest earner in the Premier League, with a reported weekly salary of £400,000.

So it’s difficult to know what to make of this story. One thing is certain: Guimaraes’ new deal pays him more than his previously reported £120,000-per-week contract inked in January 2022.

However, the suggestion that Newcastle more than quadrupled the Brazilian’s wage due to Financial Fair Play restrictions while the player still had three years left on his previous contract is a bold one.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” Guimaraes said after receiving confirmation of his new deal with Newcastle. Since my first day here, the fans have made me feel at home, and I’ve never been more loved in my life.

“I’m really pleased here. It’s a welcoming environment, and I hope to continue making the fans happy while also helping the team succeed. That’s my goal, because there are no words to express how grateful I am to be here.

“I remember saying in my first interview that I wanted to play in the Champions League for this club, and now it’s happening.”

“The city believes in us again, and it’s incredible what we’ve done for the team.” I hope this trend continues. What has happened in my life in the last two years is incredible.”

Guimaraes has received Premier League interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, and he even admitted to having a “conversation” with Real Madrid last summer.
