According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan’s top attacking targets for 2024-25 are Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko, but Manchester United and Arsenal pose ‘the largest dangers’ to the Rossoneri in the hunt for the Bologna star.
Milan are set to recruit a new centre forward in the January transfer window, and Zirkzee, according to Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page 12, is their top target, followed by RB Leipzig forward Sesko.
According to the report, €40 million will not be sufficient to sign Zirkzee, as Bologna expects to receive at least €75 million from his sale. Manchester United paid the same transfer amount to sign Rasmus Højlund last summer.
However, if the Rossoblu qualify for the Champions League, the young Dutch forward could stay with the club for another season.
Bayern Munich has a €40 million buyback option, but according to Gazzetta, they are unwilling to exercise it.
As a result, the Premier League poses the most serious threat to Milan’s pursuit of Zirkzee. Manchester United has already begun exploratory negotiations, and Arsenal’s playing style would complement the striker’s attributes.
