3 Charlton Athletic players capable of stepping up to the Premier League

Charlton Athletic have had a difficult season, but following a strong recovery under Nathan Jones, they appear to be on track to retain their League One status.
Jones took over Charlton Athletic, which was near the bottom of the League One standings at the time. However, with one defeat in his nine games as manager, they are 10 points clear of the relegation in 16th place.

Rising up the table has required a collaborative effort from everyone at The Valley. There are, without a question, some really good players on the Addicks’ roster, some of whom have the potential to play at the highest level.

Here are three Charlton Athletic players who could potentially play in the Premier League in the future.

Daniel Kanu

Kanu, a 19-year-old striker who previously starred for the Addicks at youth level, has found himself in frequent senior duty this season.

He scored four goals in six games for National League side Southend United during a loan earlier this season, and has six goals and two assists in 24 League One games total.

The child still has a lot of growing to do, but having shown himself on the senior stage at such a young age, there’s a good chance he’ll play in the Premier League someday.

Karoy Anderson

Anderson has made a terrific impression during his breakout season. After starting the season in the XI, the 19-year-old has cemented his place under Jones, scoring once and providing an assist.

The central midfielder is already a Jamaican international, and if he reaches his full potential, he might one day play in the Premier League.

Miles Leaburn

Leaburn has had a rough season. He broke through in the 2022/23 season, but has been hampered by injuries this time around, despite scoring seven goals and assisting three times in 18 games.

Leaburn, who is still only 20, has previously shown interest in the Premier League. If he is fit and doing well, he may re-emerge in the top division.
