AC Milan now want to sign €40m-rated 26-year-old

AC Milan came close to signing Antonee Robinson from Wigan Athletic, and according to reports, they have remained interested in the defender during his time at Fulham.

According to GiveMeSport, a number of teams are interested in signing Robinson ahead of the summer transfer window due to his good performances since joining Fulham.

The story begins by suggesting that Chelsea are’serious’ about signing the 26-year-old, who has played 94% of available Premier League minutes this season under Marco Silva, keeping Milan loanee Fode Ballo-Toure out of the squad.

Chelsea are looking to sign a left-back to replace Ben Chilwell, who is still out for extended periods of time owing to injury. The Blues have been scouting Robinson ‘for the past year’ and like what they see in the USA international.

Fulham are not under any rush to sell and do not want Robinson to leave, but Chelsea understands it may cost £35 million (€40 million) to entice them once the transfer window reopens.

Other clubs are interested, including Liverpool and Manchester City. Meanwhile, the source adds that Milan has renewed interest in Robinson, who was due to join in January 2020 before a heart condition scuttled the deal.

Given the persistent speculations that Theo Hernandez could face a big-money proposal from Bayern Munich in the coming months, Geoffrey Moncada may be looking into prospective alternatives.
