Injury blow: Newcastle United star set to miss Chelsea clash

According to the Mail Online, Newcastle United player Kieran Trippier may miss the game against Chelsea due to injuries discovered during scans. The 33-year-old had previously claimed that he hoped to be ready for Monday night’s game.

During the North East Football Writers’ Awards Dinner, when he was named Player of the Year, he stated, “I just felt something in my calf and don’t want to take any risks.”I had a decent conversation with the management, but I will not know anything until [Monday]. My calf is feeling well, but scan findings might be misleading, so I’m feeling optimistic.

The scans have already arrived, and the England defender is expected to miss this weekend’s game against Chelsea, as well as the Manchester City FA Cup quarterfinal.

The England full-back has been a huge success since joining the club two seasons ago, and his absence is a blow to manager Eddie Howe, who is hoping to finish a difficult season on a strong note.

Trippier has appeared in 25 league games this season, scoring one goal and assisting ten times, in addition to competing in the Champions League.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player is also a significant question for England’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium later this month. He may return for West Ham United’s visit to St James’ Park on Saturday, March 30. Chelsea could only draw away at Brentford over the weekend and will be eager for an immediate response in front of their fans.
