Newcastle player makes feelings clear after what happened on Saturday

Newcastle United defeated Wolves 3-0 at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, with goals from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon, as well as Tino Livramento’s first goal in black and white. Gordon and Isak gave the Magpies a 2-0 lead at halftime, and Livramento sealed the triumph in stoppage time.

When Kieran Trippier was forced to leave with a calf injury in the second half, Livramento came on as a substitute. Despite losing their captain, Newcastle were able to stay firm at the back and still pose a threat on the break with the former Southampton player.

Livramento scored Newcastle’s third goal, becoming the 20th different player to do it this season in all competitions. The 21-year-old scored his last league goal in October 2021, during a 2-2 draw between Southampton and Burnley.

Livramento revealed he was overjoyed to finally score his first league goal in front of his home fans after an 861-day wait. Simply buzzing.

Tino Livramento is one of Newcastle's best signings - and he wants to play for England over Scotland

“I waited for the image in front of me to evolve. Ant [Gordon] made an altruistic run to take a couple players away from me, so I decided to go myself.

“It’s a big deal to come here, put on a great show, and get the outcome we wanted, and having the audience behind us certainly helps. We are already looking forward to our next challenge.

“We’re just taking each game as it comes, and that’s what we’ll continue to do. Look at each challenge separately, and hopefully we can move forward and continue to win games.”
