Burnley will be without 6 players for Bournemouth as Kompany offers injury update for 23-year-old

Jordan Beyer is making good progress in his rehabilitation from injury, but Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is still unsure when he will return.

The defender has not appeared for the Clarets in 2024, having last played against Aston Villa on December 30.

While the 23-year-old is claimed to be recovering, it is unknown when the German will return to action.

“The last I heard, he was progressing well,” Kompany stated ahead of Sunday’s match against Bournemouth.

“But with those injuries, I can’t put a time on it.”

The Clarets will undoubtedly be without Josh Brownhill this weekend, as the midfielder is serving a one-match

suspension following his red card in the 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Aaron Ramsey, Luca Koleosho, Nathan Redmond, and Lyle Foster are all long-term absentees.

Kompany also disclosed that Samuel Bastien, who is presently on loan in Turkey, is recovering from a long-term ailment.

The midfielder returned to Gawthorpe earlier this season to recover from a knee injury, having not featured for Kasimpasa since October.

Bastien has already returned to Turkey, where he hopes to gain more playing time before returning to Burnley.

“He’s been back with the club and left the club already about three weeks ago, so he’s back in Turkey now,” Kompany said.

“He had a knee problem and had it fixed.” He’ll be back to full health shortly, and he hopes to finish the season.

“That’s the goal, that he finishes the season in Turkey and then he comes back in the summer.”

Bournemouth could also be without a vital player, as top goalscorer Dominic Solanke is now suffering from a knee ailment.

The striker missed Bournemouth’s FA Cup defeat to Leicester City, but manager Andoni Iraola hinted Solanke may yet play against Turf Moor.

He stated, “The MRI with Dom went really well, but he has not exercised with us. We have one more training session until Sunday, so I’m leaving options open, but it depends on how he handles the pain.”
