Reports have surfaced regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s message to his Nottingham Forest players following the club’s charge for breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Both Forest and Everton were charged in January for alleged breaches of PSR, with Everton also facing charges from November for a breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, resulting in a 10-point deduction pending appeal.
Forest’s case outcome is expected by May 24, following the conclusion of the 2023/24 Premier League season. The club enlisted sports lawyer Nick De Marco to handle the case.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Nuno addressed the Forest squad in a meeting room when the charge was announced, urging them to “try and block out the uncertainty.” He emphasized focusing solely on their on-field duties and maintaining proper training routines.
Since the FFP charge, Forest has won three out of eight matches, including FA Cup replay victories against Blackpool and Bristol City, as well as a 2-0 league win over West Ham.
Nuno told the reporters when the allegation was announced: “We are all concerned at the club, but as a coach, there is nothing I have to care about or deal with. My job is clear: to prepare the team, and that is what we are focusing on.
“Today we will train and we know the players know the situation, but I’ll tell them the same as I’m telling you, let’s forget about this and focus on our job.”
