Joelinton’s partner posted a video of the Newcastle United star back in the gym and working on rehab.
A new video shows Joelinton back in the gym after undergoing thigh surgery last month.
The Brazilian noticed the problem during the FA Cup 3-0 win over Tyne-Wear rivals Sunderland. Before the nature of the injury was revealed, it was assumed that the footballer would be out of action for at least six weeks.
After surgery, the 27-year-old will be out for four months and is hoping to return this season. Joelinton’s long-term partner, Thays Gondim, has issued an update for United supporters, posting a video of the midfielder working out in the gym to regain strength.
The Brazilian posted a love-filled video of the couple exercising together on her Instagram story, with Joelinton using the leg curl machine.
With treatment going, Joelinton could be back to full health before United’s season finale against Brentford on May 19th.
However, there is still some ambiguity about the footballer.
Howe recently revealed that Joelinton “is a possibility” of being sold this summer.
By the time the midfielder returns to fitness, he will have only 12 months left on the contract he signed from Hoffenheim for a then-club-record £40 million in 2019.
Negotiations for a new accord have begun, but the two parties are still far apart. When asked if there had been any updates on Friday, Howe simply said, “No.”
Joelinton has 25 goals and 15 assists in 180 games for Newcastle. Last year, Joelinton made his Brazil debut.
