Transfer Latest: AC Milan now want to sign very special player

AC Milan has opted to delay the acquisition of another central defender until the summer transfer window, with Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham emerging as a prime target. According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Milan is closely monitoring Adarabioyo’s situation, particularly given that his contract with Fulham expires in June, potentially allowing for a free transfer.

Coming up through the ranks of Manchester City’s academy, the towering 1.96m central defender, with Nigerian heritage, might seek a fresh start at the conclusion of the season. Geoffrey Moncada, among others, acknowledges his skill set.

Hailing from Manchester and with a footballer brother, Fisayo, who plays as a striker in the Dutch second division, Adarabioyo’s journey commenced with City at the age of six in 2003. He made his senior debut with City under Pellegrini in 2016 and later featured in the Champions League under Pep Guardiola against Steaua Bucharest. Loan spells at West Bromwich and Blackburn followed before his permanent move to Fulham in 2020 for €2m.

His tenure at Fulham has been fruitful, amassing 117 appearances, four goals, and two assists across various competitions. Renowned for his imposing physique, strength, and prowess in aerial battles, Adarabioyo also boasts impressive speed both in carrying the ball forward and in recovery.

Marco Silva, his head coach at Fulham, has praised Adarabioyo’s leadership qualities, particularly evident upon his return after a three-month absence due to a groin injury.

“He’s a leader in our locker room and a fantastic athlete. For the way he defends the area, but also for how he moves the ball and builds out,” he remarked.

Adarabioyo can play in a back four or as an outside centre-back in a three-man defence, demonstrating his versatility in all situations. Milan is aware of this and will be researching him throughout the summer.
