Medical passed: Ipswich Town to announce deal for 21-year-old striker

Ipswich Town are reportedly close to signing AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi after he passed a medical while representing Iraq in the Asian Cup over the weekend.

According to the EADT, the Blues have agreed to pay the League Two club little over £1 million for the 21-year-old, who has 16 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season.

They further stated that rival clubs attempted to hijack the deal late on, but Al-Hamadi ‘has his heart set’ on joining Kieran McKenna’s side.

Dons manager Johnnie Jackson told the South London Press that Town’s interest in the attacker was ‘head-turning’ following Saturday’s 2-1 triumph over Mansfield.
