MILLWALL are heading nearer capturing their second signing in January after apparently agreeing a deal with Burnley for Michael Obafemi.
The Lions are looking to sign the 23-year-old on loan to strengthen their front line options.
According to reports this afternoon, they have struck a “agreement in principle” with the Premier League side, and Obafemi is likely to complete medical tests this week before the transaction is concluded.
If he signs, he might make his debut against Preston North End on Saturday.
Obafemi joined Burnley on loan from Swansea City in January 2023, scoring twice in 12 appearances last season
However, since their elevation to the top division, he has only made two appearances.
The Irishman has previous Championship experience, having scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for Swansea in 2021-22, his greatest season to date.
He has also represented the Republic of Ireland 11 times since his debut in November 2018.
Millwall are now without Tom Bradshaw and Aidomo Emakhu owing to injuries, leaving Kevin Nisbet as their only out-and-out striker.
