Football Insider sources indicate that Jose Mourinho is more likely to join a club in the Saudi Pro League than Newcastle United.
Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the Inside Track Podcast, revealed that several Saudi clubs, including those run by Newcastle owners PiF, such as Al Shabab, are interested in securing the services of the recently dismissed Roma manager. This situation could potentially pave the way for Mourinho to quickly return to coaching.
Despite speculation linking the 60-year-old with a return to the Premier League with Newcastle, he is not expected to replace Eddie Howe. The allure of Mourinho’s global recognition is seen as appealing to the Saudi Pro League, and it is believed that his association could enhance the league’s reputation. They face Fulham at Craven Cottage in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, January 27.
