Breaking news: Lakers to complete trade move for two-time All-Star guard

The rumor mill around Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls has been spinning for quite some time. And, with the NBA trade deadline nearing, rumors will soon become reality.

Many experts, including Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report, anticipate the Los Angeles Lakers will make a deal for the two-time All-Star guard.

Do the Lakers have enough?

The Lakers may not have sufficient assets to bring the Bulls’ front office to the negotiation table. Their most tempting asset is Austin Reaves, whom the Lakers’ front management has been hesitant to part with. However, Bailey feels that the Bulls and Lakers will become desperate enough to make a move.

“Let me start by saying the Lakers simply may not have the goods to get LaVine,” Bailey said in a statement.

“But both of these teams may be desperate before the trade deadline. LeBron James is already taking passive-aggressive shots at the squad that has him under.500 on the season, and the Bulls must realize they’ve gone as far as they can with the LaVine-DeMar DeRozan-Nikola Vucevic core.”

Bulls getting back draft picks and young talent

If the Bulls are unable to lure Reaves away from the Lakers, a trade involving winger Max Christie and draft picks may persuade Chicago to let LaVine go to Los Angeles.

While it is not the package that the Bulls were reportedly looking for, Christie has the potential to develop into a strong player, and the draft picks might help them rebuild swiftly.
