Joel Embiid isn’t on the injury report as the Sixers begin 2024 with a game against the Bulls.
The Philadelphia 76ers return home on Tuesday night after a week on the road. They finished their four-game road trip with a loss to the Chicago Bulls, but they will see them again at Wells Fargo Center. As the Sixers prepare for a homestand, everyone is wondering if Joel Embiid will play tonight.
Is Sixers superstar Joel Embiid playing tonight vs. the Bulls?
Embiid is not included on the Sixers’ injury report, indicating that he will return to the court. The Sixers center hurt his right ankle in Philadelphia’s penultimate game before heading out on the road, a win over the Toronto Raptors, and sat out the entire trip. Embiid did not practice the next day, and head coach Nick Nurse stated that he was not concerned about the long-term implications. Now, the famous center is about to return.
While Philadelphia gained great experience without Embiid, the team undoubtedly hopes that the big man can stay healthy. However, the Sixers will be a little shorthanded in this game because starting guard De’Antony Melton has been ruled out due to lumbar spine pain.
The Bulls have ruled out Zach LaVine (right foot irritation), Nikola Vucevic (left adductor sprain), Torrey Craig (right plantar fascia sprain), and Lonzo Ball (left knee surgery).
The Sixers will very certainly have Joel Embiid back in their third and last game against the Bulls this season, as they attempt to start 2024 with a win.
