Newcastle United Women are thrilled to announce the signing of Nicki Gears, a former Durham Women and Sunderland Women attacker.
Gears hasn’t competed since February due to pregnancy, but now that her son is here, she’s ready to get back to full condition and resume her career.
Gears is the latest addition to Becky Langley’s side, which is aiming to be promoted from the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division at the end of their first season as a professional club.
“It’s really exciting, and I’m just looking forward to getting back into football,” Gears said after signing with NUFC.co.uk.
“The professional set-up that Newcastle have is a really exciting place to be at the minute, so I am really looking forward to it.”
