Newcastle reveal date to finalize deal for ‘remarkable’ midfielder with talks confirmed

Newcastle have entered talks with a midfield sensation who has already been talked up by Eddie Howe, and a report has revealed when a deal will come into effect.

Newcastle’s season has imploded in recent weeks, with the Magpies failing to qualify for Europe, the League Cup, and losing two of their last three Premier League games. However, there are mitigating variables, with the club’s injury issue at the forefront.

Newcastle has lost players from every position on the field. Newcastle have been hampered by their inability to rotate, in addition to the obvious absences.

Kieran Trippier, for example, has looked like a shell of himself recently, with a string of errors. Eddie Howe, 32, would have been rested and rotated in recent weeks if Eddie Howe had more options.

Newcastle has been stung hard by Sandro Tonali’s 10-month suspension for violating betting regulations.

Newcastle are looking for midfield reinforcements in the January window now that the Italy international’s season is gone.

Kalvin Phillips is still an option, but according to the Telegraph, Newcastle might conclude a vital transaction much closer to home before making any signings.

Newcastle have reportedly begun contract discussions with 17-year-old sensation Lewis Miley.

Newcastle United - Team news: Miley to make full debut for Magpies

Howe is awestruck by Miley, but any new deal can’t go into effect just now

This season, the young star has made 11 appearances for Newcastle and has displayed maturity much beyond his years. Indeed, his rise since being given a chance in November is described as’remarkable’ in the piece.

Miley, a product of Newcastle’s development system, has helped to compensate for Tonali’s absence and even scored his first Premier League goal against Fulham on December 16.

Miley became the eighth-youngest scorer in EPL history at the age of 17 years and 229 days. Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, and Cesc Fabregas are among the few who have scored at an early age.

Miley has already made an impression on Howe, who gushed about him after his goal against the Cottagers.

“His all-round performances have been so good and he’s created a couple of goals with his passes in the final third so it was good to see him get rewarded with a goal himself,” Howe remarked after the game.

“He’s an incredible talent and he’s started his Newcastle career in a great way.”

According to The Telegraph Miley merely started professional in May, when she was 17 years old. Due to his age, he could only sign a three-year contract under league rules.

Newcastle, on the other hand, has been so impressed with Miley that negotiations for a new and improved long-term contract are currently underway.

According to the article, if an agreement is made, the contract will go into force next summer, when Miley will be 18 years old.
