Transfer latest: Two ‘top’ European giants now in race to sign Sunderland star

Chelsea and Real Madrid, among other leading clubs, are closely monitoring Jobe Bellingham, a rising talent from Sunderland, according to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk. The 18-year-old midfielder has garnered attention for his remarkable displays with the Black Cats, establishing himself as one of the most promising young players globally.

Bellingham, younger sibling to Jude, a star for both Real Madrid and England, has showcased his skills in 21 appearances during this Championship season, netting four goals and providing an assist along the way.

Real Madrid is actively observing Bellingham’s progress and could potentially pursue him if he continues to exhibit talent comparable to his brother’s. However, they face competition from various European clubs, including Chelsea.

Chelsea has a keen interest in recruiting top young talents, part of their strategic vision for the future, and has been consistently scouting Bellingham for the past couple of years.

There was even a notion of bringing both Bellingham brothers to Chelsea, a plan that appealed to Todd Boehly, a significant admirer of Jude. However, despite discussions of a joint deal, it didn’t materialize due to the club’s necessity to offload players and the advanced nature of negotiations between Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham when he moved from Borussia Dortmund.

Jobe Bellingham: Real Madrid plans to sign Sunderland star threatened as London giants get in on the act

Sunderland secured Jobe from Birmingham City during the summer for an estimated £5 million, immediately integrating him as a crucial player, despite his tender age of 17 upon joining.

He’s committed to a four-year contract, and the club is firm on retaining him until the season concludes, intending to keep him onboard for as long as feasible.

This versatile midfielder, also adept in an attacking role, boasts four appearances for England’s under-19 team and has represented his country across all youth levels.

Acknowledged as one of England’s most promising talents, the comparison to his older brother’s level remains to be seen over time.

Scouts from Italy, Spain, Germany, and England have been present at several of his 21 outings this season. Sunderland might face difficulties retaining him beyond 2024.

Considering this, there’s speculation about Jobe potentially joining his brother Jude at Real Madrid if the club decides to pursue the Sunderland prodigy in the upcoming summer.
