During today’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United, Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier performed a moment of brilliance.
Darren Ambrose, who was covering the game for Sky Sports, was quite impressed by the 33-year-old this afternoon.
David Moyes, manager of West Ham United, will be left wondering if his team might have done more against Newcastle.
They took an early lead thanks to a brilliantly crafted goal by Tomas Soucek in the opening minutes.
Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri worked well together to produce a cross to the massive Czech, who made no mistake with the tap-in.
The first major talking point was when Bruno Guimaraes was booked for a foul on Emerson.
A few minutes later he could have been given his marching orders for fouling James Ward-Prowse.
However, the referee was generous on this occasion, and Newcastle punished West Ham by playing with 11 men, thanks to Kieran Trippier’s excellent cross finding Alexander Isak.
The 24-year-old was the show’s star, but his brace wasn’t enough to give Eddie Howe’s team a much-needed victory.

After Kieran Trippier’s free kick was met by a West Ham player and found Isak in the box, the Swedish international equalized.
He just kept onside before handing Newcastle the lead minutes later thanks to further outstanding performance from the England defender.
Ambrose commented on Sky Sports after the scoring, “This is another fantastic goal.” They’ve changed the course of the game.
“We said West Ham couldn’t continue to defend so deep.”
“But this is an incredible volley across the box from [Kieran] Trippier, and [Alexander] Isak taps it in.” Totally brilliant!
“You’ve got to say the way it has gone today, they deserve that.”
Ambrose initially claimed Guimaraes produced the cross, but it was undoubtedly the 33-year-old who delivered the final ball to Isak.
Trippier has been superb for Newcastle, as he always is, and West Ham are the next team to fall victim to his lethal deliveries.
The seasoned full-back was nominated for Player of the Month for his September performances, which thrilled club legend Alan Shearer.
He was instrumental in Newcastle’s historic win over PSG, which he will remember fondly.
He will now join the Three Lions on international duty before Newcastle’s match against Crystal Palace in two weeks.
