Bruno Guimaraes delivered a defiant response to Newcastle United’s Champions League exit.
“Newcastle United will never be defeated” . Bruno Guimaraes said this following the Magpies’ European exit at the hands of AC Milan.
Guimaraes and his colleagues had one foot in the last 16 of the Champions League after leading 1-0 at halftime thanks to Joelinton’s opening, but the game turned on its head in the second half.
Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1, giving the Magpies second place in Group F if they held out. However, Christian Pulisic’s equalizer dropped United to third, a Europa League position, before Samuel Chukwueze’s 84th-minute winner sent the Magpies down.
Eddie Howe’s side went from the Champions League to the Europa League to having no European football at all in the space of half an hour. Guimaraes found the decision difficult to accept after a dramatic, emotionally packed evening at St James’ Park.
“It’s difficult to accept what happened today!” the Brazilian stated on X after the game. I believe we deserved more. I am extremely proud of our squad and our supporters. We must continue with our heads held high! Nobody said it was going to be easy!”
Guimaraes stated defiantly, “Whatever happens, Newcastle United will never be defeated.”

Guimaraes was in the center of a game-changing moment when Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan brilliantly denied the midfielder from tying the game at 2-1 by tipping his shot onto the crossbar.
Newcastle, on the other hand, has no choice but to focus on their Premier League match against Fulham at home on Saturday.
