Bulls’ Billy Donovan provides update on star’s injury vs. Spurs

The Chicago Bulls are hoping for the best for Alex Caruso as they celebrate their four-game winning run after defeating the San Antonio Spurs.

On Friday night, Carushow went down with a new injury. Alex trod on Coby White’s foot while defending the driving Devin Vassell and rolled over on the floor, mincing in pain.

Caruso was hauled from the field after the play, which occurred with more than 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. After finishing with four points, three rebounds, and two assists, he was declared out for the rest of the game due to a left ankle injury.

No key update yet

When asked about an update regarding Caruso in the postgame, coach Billy Donovan wasn’t able to provide an initial thought about the severity of the injury.

“I don’t know how severe his ankle is,” he said. “I just don’t know the severity right now. When I got in there, he just said it was his ankle and he was just icing. But I’ll probably find out more if they examine here.”

A.C. has been dealing with a left toe strain all season, missing two games as a result. He re-injured it last week against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Still in good spirits

With Zach LaVine out for three to four weeks, any loss to Chicago’s remaining backcourt unit will be devastating. In Caruso’s situation, the squad can only be prepared because his defense and hustle will be badly missed in the forthcoming challenging games.

Should Caruso be sidelined due to an ankle injury, both Ayo Dosunmu and Jevon Carter will see increased playing time. Despite the terrible injury, the veteran exhibited plenty of optimism after the game.
