Barcelona has been linked with a move for Newcastle United player Bruno Guimaraes yet again.

Journalists in Spain must be bored since they’ve recycled the Bruno to Barcelona story, but this time they’ve added a little spice by inserting a player swap agreement.

Bruno Guimaraes now has a £100m release clause

According to Mundo Deportivo (via Sports Witness), while Barcelona is aware of Bruno’s snazzy new £100 million release clause, they are willing to trade up members of their team to make the transfer happen.
The report, predictably given the dubious nature of the entire claim, fails to name the Barcelona players being offered, despite Newcastle’s long-held interest in the unsettled Raphinha.

To be honest, this is a made-up narrative by a bored journalist with a deadline and nothing to write about.

Bruno is extremely settled and unlikely to move any time soon

Newcastle send warning to Real Madrid as they 'open dialogue' over new Guimaraes contract

Even if it’s true and Barcelona tries, it won’t happen. Bruno Guimaraes may want to play in Spain at some time, but he’s so comfortable at Newcastle now that he’ll surely feel he has unfinished business in terms of winning trophies for the club.

His move to Spain will happen one day, but not until we’re done with him, and right now he’s too vital to sell, and even if a club meets his release clause amount, we don’t see him leaving for another couple of years.

But, if the worst happens, we trust the board and the recruitment department to locate a good replacement.

They might even discover someone better. Even if it hurts at the time, a player leaving isn’t the end of the world. Can anyone honestly say they have missed Allan Saint-Maximin this season?
