Paul Merson delivers new Wolves verdict in ‘shock’ Burnley score prediction

According to pundit Paul Merson, Wolves are now a “good team” that other clubs would be happy to beat.

Gary O’Neil has made a good start to life at Molineux despite arriving at the club near the end of the season.

Everything pointed to him and Wolves having a difficult time, but that has not been the case thus far.

Wolves presently have 15 points from 14 games, which is a solid return considering the difficult schedule.

Wolves would have been considerably higher up the table if the officiating had been up to the needed quality.

Last week’s penalty verdicts and non-red cards at Craven Cottage were the latest to make Wolves fans angry.

But Wolves have impressed this season, especially Paul Merson, who has predicted the score for tonight’s game against Burnley…

Paul Merson believes Wolves have become a team other clubs will take pride in beating

One of the most important things O’Neil has done at Wolves since his arrival has been to instill a competitive spirit in the players.
This season has seen everyone look revitalized, and these players appear to want to run through brick walls for the new management.

O’Neil has also demonstrated his tactical acumen, orchestrating victories over Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Merson has appreciated what he has seen from Wolves in recent weeks and has now claimed that beating them would be considered a great result by other clubs.

Pundit canes Premier League's new idea to modernise the game

He said (Sportskeeda): “I thought Wolves did all right against Arsenal. They got blown away in the first 15 minutes when Arsenal were amazing, but they held their own and stuck in there. They’re a good team and have joined the likes of Brighton and Brentford – if you beat them, it’s a great result.”

Wolves will be looking to get back to winning ways tonight against Burnley, and Merson believes that will happen at Molineux. Predicting a 2-0 home win, he added: “I think Wolves should be a lot higher up in the league table, and I’m backing them to win this game.”

People are starting to notice Wolves

Merson consistently predicted Wolves losses in the opening few weeks of the season and did not appear to rate the team.

As O’Neil worked to stabilize the situation following the departure of Julen Lopetegui, his emotions about the club were likely shared by many.

However, people are beginning to see Wolves in a new perspective. The club may just be in 13th place, but many have realized that this is a bit of a shambles, as Wanderers have been extremely unlucky with certain VAR judgments.

Under O’Neil, Wolves have demonstrated that they are once again a competitive side, and other managers will be delighted to grab points against them.
