Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp makes shock Newcastle United statement after Man Utd win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has singled out Newcastle United for some rare praise.

Following their 1-0 triumph against Manchester United on Saturday night, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp singled out Newcastle United for some uncommon praise.

Anthony Gordon’s goal in the 55th minute gave Newcastle their sixth straight Premier League victory at St James’ Park. It was also Newcastle’s first three-match winning streak over Manchester United since 1922.

Newcastle had 22 shots on goal to the visitors’ eight, with only one on target. In the final seconds, Harry Maguire thought he had equalised when Antony’s strike deflected in off him, but the defender was in an offside position.

Klopp was among many who tuned in for the 8 p.m. kickoff. The German acknowledged to being “really impressed” with Newcastle and mentioned Eddie Howe’s decision to start the same lineup for the third game in a row.

With 10 senior players ruled out against Manchester United due to injuries, Howe was forced to make a decision.
