Milan decide against free agent signing – 18-year-old defender will be promoted from the Primavera to the first squad

It doesn’t rain, but it pours on the injury front for AC Milan, who now have only one fit senior centre-back available following Malick Thiaw’s hamstring injury.

According to Calciomercato.com, Thiaw is facing a lengthy layoff due to the severity of his muscle injury, and with Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu also out until the new year, there is a true emergency at the back.

According to the report, Milan will not go on the free agency market to try to solve the situation before the January transfer window. Jan-Carlo Simic will be promoted from the Primavera to the first squad, and internal solutions will be found game by game.

The Rossoneri’s management is brainstorming names for the January transfer window, with the goal of luring Jakub Kiwior on loan from Arsenal, which is tough but not impossible at the present.

Benoit Badiashile (Chelsea), Konstantinos Kourielakis (PAOK), and Maxime Estevè (Montpellier) are also still on the team. Lloyd Kelly, on the other hand, will not be leaving Bournemouth in January.

Milan scouts will be in France next weekend looking for additional prospects to add to this list.
