Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles claims the Magpies have evolved to the point where players would run through brick walls for manager Eddie Howe.
Because Sven Botman has been in Eddie Howe’s lineup from the beginning of the season, Lascelles has only had a few chances.
When Howe has a fully fit squad, Lascelles is not his first choice at center-back.
However, Botman’s injury has created a window of opportunity, and Lascelles is seizing it with both hands, impressing at the back.
Lascelles emphasized the transformation that has occurred in the locker room since Howe took over, claiming that everyone is now willing to battle hard to make the team.
“It feels like a different Newcastle now”, Lascelles said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.
“Everyone would run through a brick wall to play for the manager and play for the badge.
“That is what I am doing. I am loving it.”
Lascelles was expected to leave Newcastle during the summer transfer window, but Howe was determined to keep him.
Newcastle have won four of their seven league games this season with the 30-year-old in the heart of their defense.
