13 Leicester players contracts expire end of season, key man tipped to move on free

The end of the 2023/24 season could mark the beginning of a new era for Leicester City Football Club.

This season, the Foxes are dominating the Championship, sitting atop the table. Though it is far too early to declare Enzo Maresca’s team champions-elect, they have a swagger about them that most opponents have found difficult to handle.

If they continue as they have so far this season, they will automatically be promoted to the Premier League as one of the top two.

One challenge they may face is with their playing staff, since several first-team stars are nearing the conclusion of their contracts.

According to Capology, Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Dennis Praet, Jannik Vestergaard, Marc Albrighton, Alex Smithies, Yunus Akgun, Issahaku Fatawu, Cesare Casadei, Kasey McAteer, Callum Doyle, and Wanya Marcal’s contracts will expire at the end of the current season.

Brendan Rodgers gives Kelechi Iheanacho's Leicester City career a boost

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Ndidi’s representatives appear to be in talks with La Liga club Sevilla.
He stated on X (previously Twitter) that the Premier League is still Ndidi’s preferred destination, while Sevilla is not being ruled out.

If the Foxes do return to the promised land at the first attempt, the player may be able to fulfill all of his immediate goals by simply extending his current contract before it expires.
