In recent weeks, AC Milan has been connected with Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly. They want to bolster the defense in January, but according to reports, the 25-year-old will not be permitted to depart mid-season.
The injury to Pierre Kalulu has forced Milan to assess their options on the Mercato. Kelly was already on the radar of technical director Geoffrey Moncada, who was interested in him for the summer. Instead, the Rossoneri have been scouting for a Jajuayr move in recent weeks.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Bournemouth have informed both Milan and Juventus that Kelly will not be sold in January. They are willing to let him go for free in the summer, prioritizing Premier League survival (which is very valuable).
Moncada and Milan will have to focus on signing him for the summer, which means the talks will continue but with a new strategy. Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior appears to be their main January target, with the Gunners interested in a loan transfer.
Kelly, on the other hand, will almost certainly have several offers on the table as his contract expires. Juventus is likely to give a greater wage, which means Milan will have to demonstrate the benefits of their proposal.
