Official: AC Milan Confirm Sack for Manager After Poor Form

The Rossonere will promote from within to try and get the season back on track after a poor start

AC Milan has announced on their website that they have parted ways with the coach of the Milan Women’s first squad. Maurizio Ganz has been fired following a string of disappointing performances and an overall dismal start to the season, which has left the team in sixth place after eight matchdays.

Since former captain Valentina Giacinti and Spanish veteran Veronica Boquete raised concerns about his management roughly two years ago, requests for his departure have grown.

As a result, both top-tier players would be forced to leave the squad. Since his first season, the team’s results have steadily declined, and it now sits in its lowest position since its creation.

Ganz’s results since taking the job in 2019 have been as follows: third, second, third, and third. He never got his squad into the Women’s Champions League. In 2021, he lost the Coppa Italia final as well as the Supercoppa.
