Newcastle star now hints at a return to full fitness on social media

Eddie Howe is currently managing Newcastle United through a horrific injury problem.

The Magpies currently have 14 players unavailable for the Chelsea game, and with numerous players on international service, the risk of that number growing is a major issue.

Fabian Schar, one of their current national team members, missed Switzerland’s game in midweek due to muscle tiredness.

Schar missed Switzerland’s game with Israel on Wednesday

As Switzerland drew 1-1 with Israel, Schar was ordered to practice with a personal trainer and omitted from the matchday roster.
The move appeared to be more of a precautionary measure, giving Schar more time to heal following a rigorous club schedule, but the Swiss defender has now uploaded an image on his Instagram reel in his training gear, implying that he’s back to 100% and ready to play for his country.

While it’s great that his issues from last week didn’t worsen, it now means Schar might play in either of Switzerland’s next two games, putting him back in danger.

Trippier came through another 90-minute run-out last night

Switzerland will play Kosovo later today, followed by Romania on Tuesday. Given the rapid run of games, Swiss coach Murat Yakin is likely to rotate his players, increasing the chances of Schar’s inclusion.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier played 90 minutes for England last night, starting at right-back in the first half and switching to left after Kyle Walker was introduced.

We’re still hoping Tripps will be rested by Monday night. Simply give the man a break.
