Vincent Kompany confirms Burnley star will play v Chelsea after injury fears

Anass Zaroury is available for selection against Chelsea in Burnley’s next league game.

The winger was left out of the Clarets’ squad for Tuesday night’s 2-1 triumph against Luton Town, raising fears that he had picked up an injury.

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Turf Moor, claimed the 22-year-old is fit and raring to play.

“Yeah, [he’s available],” Kompany confirmed.
“I think where we’re at now, we have a lot of players who are of a similar level, which is a good thing, so we might have to leave one player out and then bring them back in, and then leave another player out.”

“We always try and start with the XI we feel is the best suited to win a game, but behind that there are a lot of players of a similar level which might mean you see a few changes without meaning more than that.”

Premier League: Anass Zaroury prolonge à Burnley

Burnley return to action just four days after a tense battle at Kenilworth Road in which Kompany’s team earned their first league victory of the season.

When asked if his team survived the game uninjured, Kompany replied, “Mostly.” I believe we’re still assessing, so we’ll find out more in the next 24 hours.”

Hjalmar Ekdal, Johann Gudmundsson, Manuel Benson, Nathan Redmond, and Michael Obafemi are also out.

Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo is likely to be fit despite picking up a minor knock against Fulham on Monday night.

Mykhailo Mudryk also suffered a thigh injury during that game, and the extent of his setback is unknown at this time.

Ben Chilwell is out with a hamstring injury until December, and Malo Gusto is still suspended. Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Trevoh Chalobah, and Wesley Fofana are also unavailable.
