Burnley forward Lyle Foster has been away from the football pitch for a few weeks and will take a longer break due to a recurrence of a mental health issue.
Foster has made seven Premier League appearances for Vincent Kompany’s team this season, scoring three goals and assisting on two others. However, he has not played since the Clarets’ 3-0 away defeat to Brentford in October.
His club was made public. Foster is currently undergoing treatment for mental health issues that he has been experiencing.
In an official statement, Burnley informed their fans and the football world he will be away from the pitch for an indefinite period.
“Recently Lyle let us know that he continues to live with issues around mental well-being and has reached out for help,” Burnley said in a statement. He is currently under the care of specialists, who are providing him with the support and care he requires to return to full health.

He began his career with South African giants Orlando Pirates before moving on to AS Monaco. He also played for Cercle Brugge in Belgium and Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal before joining Westerloo in Belgium.
He joined Burnley in January for an initial fee of £8 million and was instrumental in the club’s smooth return to the Premier League.
