Kylian Mbappe sends warning to Newcastle United after Milan loss

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat at the hands of AC Milan, Kylian Mbappe has warned Newcastle United to expect a reaction.

On Tuesday night, the French giants were defeated 2-1 at the San Siro. Milan Skriniar gave PSG the lead, but goals from Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud completed Milan’s comeback.

“It’s a defeat, it hurts,” Mbappe said. “However, we must look ahead. We still control our destiny, and we’ll do everything we can to win at home and gain some breathing room in this group.

“What about the fans?” I’d like to express my gratitude to the fans for their support. We didn’t perform well on the field, but they were there to encourage us, and we’ll respond well against Newcastle.

“How about the previous two games?” Our first game will be played at home. We are very confident at home. So the first game is at home, we have to win it, and then we have to make progress for the last away game.”

On November 28, Newcastle will travel to Paris. With seven points, Borussia Dortmund leads Group F. PSG is second with six points, followed by AC Milan with five and Newcastle with four.

“It was a bit of a crazy match,” PSG manager Luis Enrique said. I believe we got off to a good start by scoring the first goal. We did, however, lose control at one point. We went through a blow-for-blow phase. We have a strong team in that aspect of the game, but they do as well. And they had the opportunity to equalize early on.

“We kept creating chances, and we had chances to take the lead.” Ousmane had one very clear chance, and Kylian had another. It’s a shame, because the game was very evenly balanced and could have gone either way.

“What about the last two games?” Without a doubt, there will be two finals. Today was already a final, because if we had won in Dortmund, we would have almost qualified. But, well, it was the death group, which is why we call it that. We’ll need every bit of help we can get from our fans. It was encouraging to see so many Parisian fans cheering us on today, and we hope to repay the favor with results.”
