Lamar Jackson Brutally Savages Josh Allen Before Ravens-Bills, ‘I ain’t laughing…’

The Baltimore Ravens travel to face the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. The Ravens defeated their rival Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 in Wild Card Weekend to move to the clash against the Bills, thanks to heroic efforts from Derrick Henry. Henry rushed for 186 yards on 26 carries and two scores as the Ravens defeated the Steelers at home. It wasn’t a very good box score game for Lamar Jackson, who had an MVP-worthy season. He had only 175 passing yards, completing 16 of his 21 attempts. Jackson did punch home two passing touchdowns, however.

While Jackson will be without Zay Flowers for another playoff game, he must still make an MVP-caliber impact against the Bills. Buffalo is a terrific team that has put together a remarkable campaign, rallying behind Josh Allen, who is fighting with Jackson for MVP this season.

The two quarterbacks are in the same tier as Patrick Mahomes as the greatest in the NFL, and they will face off against one other’s teams on Sunday.

What Lamar Jackson said about Josh Allen

Lamar Jackson's contract fight could impact future generations of NFL players

Jackson made it obvious before the fight that the two are not buddies. Do I see Josh Allen? I’m not sure, but I believe I saw Josh early in my career when attending events such as the Super Bowl and other similar events,” Jackson said. “I don’t really get out with anyone during the offseason, especially other quarterbacks. Don’t get me wrong; there is no problem, yet we are competing with each other. I’m attempting to beat you. I am not trying to be your friend.”No sure, when we’re older, we’ll laugh about [their shared legacy of getting drafted in the 2018 class], but for now, it’s serious. “I’m not laughing with you.”

Jackson understands the message during the postseason. It is not about legacy or narratives. He wants to win big. The Louisville product has two MVP awards. He hopes to add a Super Bowl win to his resume. There are no friends made along the route either.
