Virginia tech Recruits More Staffs; Bringing In Another Sec Coach With Wealth Of Experience

Virginia Tech is closing in on its next offensive coordinator, targeting Buffalo Bills assistant for the role, according to a report from Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. While a deal is not yet finalized, it is expected to be completed in the coming days, bringing an innovative offensive mind to Blacksburg.

He brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the table, having previously served as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at William & Mary from 2020 to 2023. During his tenure, the Tribe consistently ranked among the top rushing teams in the Colonial Athletic Association, earning a reputation for a dynamic and effective ground game. His expertise in designing and executing complex rushing attacks could bring a new dimension to Virginia Tech’s offense.

Last season, Taylor made the leap to the NFL, working as a defensive quality control coach with the Buffalo Bills. Despite his role on the defensive side, Taylor’s offensive acumen has remained highly regarded, and his brief stint in the NFL has only added to his coaching toolkit. Virginia Tech fans can expect an offense built on creativity, adaptability, and a strong emphasis on the running game under Taylor’s guidance.

Taylor is set to replace Tyler Bowen, who departed earlier this month to join Ohio State as the Buckeyes’ new offensive line coach under head coach Ryan Day. As Virginia Tech looks to build on recent successes and continue its ascent in the ACC, the addition of Taylor could be the spark the Hokies need to elevate their offensive performance and compete at the highest level.
