Georgia football is still searching for its quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. While Jared Curtis, the nation’s top-ranked quarterback, remains a familiar name for UGA fans, the Bulldogs are also pursuing several other highly talented signal-callers.
One of those quarterbacks recently revealed the schools he’s prioritizing in his recruitment and the programs he plans to visit in the coming months. While much of the detailed information is exclusive to On3 subscribers, some public updates have emerged—and it’s great news for Kirby Smart and Georgia.
4-star QB Landon Duckworth
Landon Duckworth, a four-star quarterback from Jackson, AL, is one of the top prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, he’s ranked as the No. 5 quarterback nationally, the No. 4 player in Alabama, and the No. 66 overall player in the country.
Georgia has made Duckworth a key target in this cycle, and hearing that the Bulldogs are among his top schools is a promising sign. Even better, UGA is one of the four programs expected to host him for an official visit later this summer.
Chad Simmons of On3 provided several updates on Duckworth’s recruitment, noting that Ole Miss, Florida State, South Carolina, Auburn, and Missouri are Georgia’s main competitors. Interestingly, both 247Sports and On3 had previously listed South Carolina and UCF as the leaders in his recruitment, but Simmons’ report suggests that’s no longer the case.
As Duckworth prepares for visits this spring and his official visits in the summer, it’ll be intriguing to see which program emerges as the frontrunner.

Elite 4-star RB sends a message to Kirby Smart, Georgia
One of Georgia football’s top priority targets in the 2026 recruiting class is running back Jae Lamar. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Lamar is one of the nation’s top prospects, ranked No. 126 overall, the No. 13 running back in his class, and the No. 19 player in Georgia.
Lamar recently announced his official visit schedule for the summer, with Georgia set to host him starting May 30. He’ll also take official visits to Auburn and Miami (FL) later this summer.
While no official predictions have been made regarding Lamar’s recruitment, he’s made it clear who his current leader is—Georgia. In a recent interview with On3, Lamar shared a quote that leaves little doubt about where the Bulldogs stand, offering insight into what UGA needs to do to maintain its spot at the top of his list.
Jae Lamar is not shy about how much he loves Georgia
Running back Jae Lamar remains one of Georgia football’s top priority recruits in the 2026 class. Ranked No. 126 nationally, the No. 13 running back, and the No. 19 player in Georgia according to the 247Sports Composite, Lamar has made it clear that the Bulldogs are firmly in the lead for his commitment.
Lamar recently announced three official visits for this summer, including a trip to Athens starting May 30. He’ll also visit Auburn and Miami (FL), but Georgia continues to hold a significant edge in his recruitment.
This isn’t the first time Lamar has been upfront about his interest in UGA. He attended Georgia’s first Junior Day of the year, but it was a statement he made back in November that really stood out—Lamar explicitly named Georgia as his “number one” school. With comments like that, there’s little doubt about where the Bulldogs stand.
Adding to that, Lamar recently shared with 247Sports:
“I mean, before I even hopped on the field, before anyone even knew my name, Coach Crawford stopped by my school, and he liked my size. He actually recruited my oldest brother, so he just already knew the type of abilities I had, and he wanted me to put on a couple games film, and he was gonna offer me.”
While Lamar hasn’t set a commitment date yet, it’s clear that Georgia is the team to beat. It would be surprising if he doesn’t end up as part of the Bulldogs’ 2026 recruiting class when it’s all said and done.
