Just In: Sabres Confirms Injury Update Regarding Jordan Greenway; Insider Confirms Top Star Leaving Before Trade Dead line

New York Rangers defenseman K’Andre Miller likely won’t be thrilled about facing Buffalo Sabres forward when he returns from injury, their first matchup after the 4 Nations Face-off break. Unless, of course, he is suiting up as Miller’s teammate.

A towering presence at 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, sidelined the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Miller with a hard hit during the Rangers’ 3-2 win on December 11, causing an upper-body injury that kept Miller out for six games—his only absences this season.

Known for his punishing physical style, his hard-hitting game could be a perfect fit for the Rangers, who would benefit from adding the upstate New York native before the March 7 trade deadline.

Jordan Greenway brings size, strength, attitude Rangers seek

Jordan Greenway is a big, strong, and aggressive forward who thrives in the corners, agitates opponents, and battles in front of the net. Adding him would be another move toward the Rangers’ goal of becoming a tougher, more physical team. They’ve already reunited their “Twin Towers” fourth line (though Adam Edstrom is sidelined for 2.5 to 3.5 months), traded for defenseman Will Borgen, and brought back power forward J.T. Miller in a blockbuster deal with the Vancouver Canucks on January 31. The best part? Greenway likely won’t cost much.

He’s been out since December 15 after undergoing surgery for a mid-body injury but has been making progress, with the Sabres eyeing the first game after the two-week tournament break for his return.

The Rangers’ front office should take advantage of this downtime to explore Greenway’s availability. Buffalo is once again struggling, sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and with the 27-year-old winger on an expiring contract, he’s a prime trade candidate ahead of the deadline.
