Gary O’Neil could suffer major blow as Wolves star now ready to quit Molineux- Reports

Wolverhampton Wanderers, to their credit, have steadied the ship after a turbulent summer that saw them lose Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, and Julen Lopetegui. Gary O’Neil’s debut may not have been flashy, but the former Bournemouth manager has had a strong start, culminating in a shock win over reigning Premier League winners Manchester City in their most recent game.

The Midlands club may also be interested in January reinforcements, but they will be well aware that the transfer window can be dangerous when it comes to holding hold of their finest players. And, after losing Ruben Neves in the summer, they may be desperate to maintain their greatest assets for the upcoming season.

However, with speculations indicating that one great player is interested in leaving, this may not be an easy feat.

What is the most recent Wolves transfer news?

Wolves were not the most active team in terms of incomings during the summer transfer window. In total, the Midlands club spent a whopping €94m (£82m), bringing in players such as Santiago Bueno and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in the goal of securing their Premier League survival.

However, it was their departures that made headlines, with Neves, Joao Moutinho, and Matheus Nunes, among others, all leaving the club.

It was easy to be concerned about Wolves’ survival chances after Nunes’ departure, but wins against Manchester City and Luton Town have since allayed those anxieties, putting them on track for mid-table comfort. One more exit could yet cause havoc, and rumors indicate that individuals at Molinuex may suffer heartache once more.

According to Football Insider reporter Pete O’Rourke, Pedro Neto is “interested” in leaving Wolves to join a team competing for big accolades, amid reports of a move to Arsenal. Neto, on the other hand, may be forced to wait until the summer of 2024, when Wolves may authorise a sale to help avoid any Financial Fair Play issues.

How did Pedro Neto fare this season?

After battling injuries in recent years, Neto has now recovered and seems back to his best at Wolves, as seen by his contributions to the club’s victories over Manchester City and Luton Town. The figures also indicate that he has improved from last season. The winger has improved in a lot of areas, according to FBref.

Neto has had a fantastic start to the season, earning him well-deserved praise from O’Neil.

“I have always liked him,” Wolves boss Steve Bruce told the Birmingham Mail. Since I’ve been here, his attitude and approach have been outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about him right now; he’s been great. He has experience playing on both sides. The switch was made because I felt he’d have some fun down this side today. He did experience some joy, but the main issue is that we left with nothing, which is sad.”
