Bills get bad news on QB Josh Allen’s injury

The Buffalo Bills are having difficulty defeating the New England Patriots (3-11), but things got much worse early in the fourth quarter. It was reported earlier this week that quarterback Josh Allen broke his left hand, his non-throwing hand, in Week 1 of the season. However, early in the fourth quarter, Allen looked to damage his right hand, and the extent of the injury remains unknown. Allen threw a pass that appeared weak and unsteady, which was unusual of a man with probably the NFL’s strongest arm. Cameras saw Allen favoring one hand and squirming as he went off the field after an aborted third-down play.

The quarterback proceeded to shake his hand on the sidelines, clearly uncomfortable, as Buffalo’s defense broke up a later pass near the Patriots’ end zone and recovered the ball for a touchdown, giving Buffalo a 24-14 lead. Because of this turn of events, Allen has yet to return to the field with the offense, as the Bills have kicked off to the Patriots, who are back on offense. It is unclear what Allen’s injury is, how he sustained it, and whether he will return to the game.
